- This is Dunjin 4.30 - a text adventure game in the tradition of
- ADVENT and Zork.
-
-
- W H A T' S N E W
-
- ----- Version 4.30 introduces a way to open the locked door in the
- ----- Kilroy room. Many users have asked me about how to open it, and
- ----- been disappointed about that they couldn't. This has now been
- ----- changed - however, I'm afraid it won't be very helpful...
- ----- The dragon's behaviour is now also a bit more consistent.
- ----- Some descriptions have been updated a little.
- ----- New is also that the restart information is no longer stored in
- ----- a file, but in RAM, so the distribution contains one file less.
- ----- Also, the data files have been renamed.
- ----- Savefiles from version 4.20 and later still work.
-
- +++++ Version 4.25 fixes a few minor bugs and misfeatures in 4.22.
- +++++ The "tele-portal" now works as intended, which means that one
- +++++ unintentional shortcut has been eliminated. Hopefully, this won't
- +++++ make the game much more difficult than before. Savefiles from
- +++++ versions 4.20 and 4.22 still work.
-
- ***** Version 4.22 fixes one nasty bug in 4.20 that made it impossible to
- ***** leave the green room if you'd killed the dragon before going there.
- ***** Some minor bugs, and a misfeature that made it possible to circumvent
- ***** some problems by using a certain object in an unintended way have also
- ***** been fixed.
- ***** Otherwise, the game is as before. You shouldn't notice any changes.
- ***** Save files from version 4.20 may be used with 4.22 as well.

-
- Dunjin features
- - more than 180 different locations (rooms)
- - several hundred objects
- - a command line editor (like Dosedit)
-
- Dunjin was written by Magnus Olsson (magnus@thep.lu.se) in 1991.
-
- Before running the program, it is recommended that you at least browse
- through the documentation file DUNJIN.DOC (Although you could probably
- manage without it if you've played other adventure games before, there
- are some features such as the command line editor that you might miss
- if you don't read it).
-
-
- The Dunjin distribution (which should be packed as a ZIP or similar
- archive file) contains the following files:
-
- * READ.ME - this file
- DUNJIN.COM - the program
- DUNJIN.000 - overlay files used by Dunjin
- DUNJIN.001
- DUNJIN.002
- DUNJIN.003
- DUNJIN.100 - data files used by Dunjin
- DUNJIN.101
- DUNJIN.102
- DUNJIN.HLP - command summary (used when you type 'help'
- inside Dunjin)
- DUNJIN.CNF - configuration file, created by DUNCONF.COM
- * DUNCONF.COM - the configuration program (see below)
- * DUNJIN.DOC - printable Dunjin manual (plain ASCII format)
-
- (Files marked with * are not necessary to run the program)
-
-
- If one or more of these files are missing, you should try to obtain the
- complete distribution via one of the channels listed when you type
- INFO at the Dunjin prompt.
-
-
- Good luck, and happy adventuring!
